Gilad
Dagan is a doctoral candidate in Social Work at Bar-Ilan University,
Israel, with eight years of clinical experience in substance use disorder (SUD)
treatment. He earned his MSW from Bar-Ilan University in 2021, receiving the
Rector's Excellence Award and subsequently being awarded the prestigious
Presidential Scholarship for doctoral studies. Gilad currently serves as both
clinician and instructor at the Israeli Center on Addiction (ICA), where he
collaborates with leading psychiatrists as part of the ICA campus and clinic operations.
Gilad’s’ research focuses on SUD recovery, with particular emphasis on the
intersection of language, identity construction, and therapeutic practice in
SUD treatment. This interdisciplinary work contributes to understanding how
healthcare professionals navigate language choices in clinical practice, offering
valuable insights for optimizing therapeutic communication while respecting
cultural contexts.
