Biography

Dr. Hernández is Puerto Rican, lives in Massachusetts (USA), and has 37+ years of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating Substance Use Disorder, Mental Health, Problem Gambling, and related services. Dr. Hernandez serves as senior consultant on several contracts funded by federal, state, and local sources. He leads with a social justice lens grounded in eliminating disparities and building equity, and promotes a greater understanding of the Structural Determinants of Health, coupled with implementing multiple strategies over multiple domains. Haner is a person in long-term recovery from substance use and mental health challenges and is committed to family, community, and justice.
