Women’s Mental Health

Women’s mental health refers to the psychological well-being of women across different stages of life, influenced by biological, social, and cultural factors. Hormonal changes during menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause can increase vulnerability to mood disorders like depression and anxiety. Social roles, gender-based stress, and exposure to trauma also significantly affect mental health outcomes. Conditions such as postpartum depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and eating disorders are more prevalent among women. Promoting awareness, access to mental health care, counseling, and supportive social networks are crucial for improving women’s mental well-being.
